I don’t know what to do with myself anymore.. I hate nice days, because I don’t have anything to do with them. I used to spend these days at the farm with you, all day.. Now I sit at home, crying because of how much I miss you .. There’s a huge hole in my heart, and I don’t know how to fill it, I don’t even know how to help it heal.. I don’t think there is way, only pain and suffering..

To my dear Josie Burr: you will be missed but we’ve sent you on with love.

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
when their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,
is a place where beloved creatures find rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
til The Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

Just found out that my eventer can't be ridden again ):

My poor Josie Burr foundered about a month ago

We just re did the xrays, vet said she has rotated 6-7 degrees and might not be sound enough to be ridden again.. and if she does become sound enough, it will only be for very light riding and mayybe trails.. ):

I don’t know what to do.. Please, advice? Anything..?

I think I've hit my breaking point..

Josie foundered two weeks ago, and she’s having a really hard time walking.. We did blood test for Cushing’s and Equine Metabolic Syndrome, both came back negative.. My vet’s at a loss trying to figure out what caused it..

I personally think that the vet isn’t positive that Josie did actually founder.. When they did the hoof check (squeeze her foot with a clamp- foundered horses flip out because it hurts) Josie didn’t flinch when they did it ..

So if anyone has any advice or really anything, past experience, ideas on questions, just anything.. I’d really appreciate it (:

The vet said the x-rays show that there’s no damage to the hoof right now, and hopefully since we caught it early, she has a better chance of getting better.. Basically right now, we’re waiting until the morning to see how she looks, then going from there. Vet said it’s going to be a day-by-day process.. :/
